Introduction
The Science of Living is a new way of life, in which you are going to live your life, learning from the examples and experience of the people around you. Life is for living, not just for existing. And this life is for living Emperor size, holding every moment precious, because once it is gone, it is lost in the mists of the past. So, our Science of Living series give you lots of information of how you can live life fully, and enjoy the action of living on this earth, at this moment.
This is the third book in the series. And this talks about living with friendship and peace. Peace is an ephemeral thing, which everybody wishes, but it is so elusive. For millenniums people have been seeking ways to gain peace among mankind, but that is only possible when they understand the meaning of friendship. And man is naturally and genetically inclined not to hold out his hand in friendship to another one not of his race, caste, Creed, area or religion, because of his upbringing, innate bias, genetic instinct, history, or anything else which makes him feel, “I do not want you as my friend.”

I do not like thee Dr. Fell
Why this is so I cannot tell
But this I know fully well
I do not like thee Dr. Fell.

Charles Lamb said this more than two centuries ago, but thinking about this, anyone can understand why people do not like others instinctively. There is no logical rhyme or reason for this – like or dislike. But there is something which tells them that friendly relationships with that particular person is going to harm them or going to cause them emotional, physical, mental or spiritual trouble. And that is the reason why so many of us do not make friends at all.
This book is going to give you information on how you can cherish and nourish peace and friendship, and thus understand the basis of the Science of Living and living Emperor size. Read more…

Introduction
Humans are fortunate, because they are spiritually inclined. Nevertheless, we succumb to our human failings, and we need lots of patience to reach that stage of evolution when we can tolerate with patience the people around us. Along with that comes the feeling of trust. Human beings are natural cynics too – our first instinct is always to see the bad in anything we see and hear unless we are so spiritually evolved, that we can immediately look for the good in everything.
The science of living takes examples from our own daily lives as well as the lives of people before us who showed qualities of greatness through tolerance, care, sympathy, and a genuine, sincere and honest interest in the beings around them. These are the ones universally loved. They knew everything about the science of living with tolerance and trust.
I do not advocate trusting everybody around you blindly. Trust comes only with the passage of time. It is said about a person who is in a position of trust and responsibility that he has to prove his worth every day through his every action, because of a feeling of self-respect and self-worth. Now this can only be done by a very brave woman and man. The Science of Living series are books which give you lessons in living, and how you can be happy while spreading happiness around you.
Remember happiness comes from within. Happiness comes in a mind which is at peace and a heart which is at rest. Have faith in you. Have faith in the people around you. Give your support and sympathy to those who deserve it. Live your life so that people miss you and remember you, even after you have gone.
I remember the saddest epitaph, I heard about someone I knew. She was a troublesome dove and loved spreading misery all around her. We were just coming back from her funeral, when her own son just brushed his hands together and said, “Well, that is done, thank God. We do not have to have anything to do with her again. Good riddance.” The implication of “bad rubbish” was there. That made me feel that perhaps the son was too harsh and intolerant about his mother’s failings, but all of us had suffered. So there was this feeling of relief that she had gone, and we would spend the next 40 years clearing up the broken relationships and bitterness she had left her behind her. Now that is not a heritage which you would want to leave behind you, would you?
The Science of Living advocates Live and Let Live. If you get some lessons on how you can make your life sublime through this book, I would consider my work well rewarded.
There is absolutely no chapter on tolerance or intolerance in matters of religion, caste, Creed, or race in this book. That is because the science of living is universal with the universal truths based on day to day life. All of these other weighty and potentially controversial matters are individual beliefs and I leave it to your conscience to follow your heart, as it thinks right. Read more…

Introduction
There was a time when I was so busy that my getting ready schedule on a hectic morning took anywhere between 7 to 10 minutes. And when I asked one of my equally busy colleagues, if she could take some time out, to a spa for the weekend for a little bit of pampering, because we needed it, this was her answer.
“Oh, do me a favor, DJ. Who really has the time to spend trying to beautify herself at home, or in a spa, when one does not even have the time to lie down and expire peacefully. Cannot you see that we are so busy the whole day long that if you imagine we have a few minutes for ourselves that in itself is a blessing. I am not going to be spending that time pampering myself and beautifying myself when I would rather be lying face down on a couch, fast asleep.”
Women have got so into the habit of being busy, busy, busy that they have forgotten the idea of cherishing themselves. How many times have you heard this statement, that one is so busy that one really does not have the time for “beautifying” one. In fact, many women I know use this as a very convenient excuse to look dowdy, and badly groomed. Because they are under the impression that good grooming takes a lot of time, and this should be done only on very special occasions. I beg to differ.
A woman who does not take some time off to cherish and cosset herself is either lacking in self-esteem, or does not seem to have any interest in the mere fact that she is fortunate to have been born a woman.

But then, many of us are going to say who really has the time and energy to spend long periods of time beautifying one when it is go go go from early morning till night. Yes, everybody knows that at the end of the day, a woman would like nothing better than to kick off her shoes, snuggle down in a comfortable sofa close her eyes and think deep deep, deep thoughts.
So let us start a six-day beauty program with just thinking, and eyes closed.
Firstly, let us start with relaxation. Unfortunately, the number of workaholics is increasing, because women have decided that more money in hand is their top priority. They are more focused on their family’s future financial security and so naturally they are not going to spend their time and hard-earned money in long winded beauty treatments in Salons and spas. Also, these women with hectic and busy schedules have forgotten how to relax.
So before we start on our six-day beauty treatment, here are some points, which you have to implement every day, to stay beautiful and stay healthy. Many of them are common sense tips, but how many of us implement them in real life? We do not have the time… Read more…

Introduction
A keen young budding botanist once asked me, “Ma’am, how do we know the difference between herbs, shrubs and trees?” Well, the answer is that a majority of herbal plants are definitely soft stemmed and smaller in size when compared to shrubs which are woody and often branched. Herbs are annuals and sometimes perennials. Shrubs are perennials like trees. And trees are definitely different, because they have long woody trunks, which are branched, grow to huge heights, and live really long.

Herbs have been used since ancient times, for medicinal value, and also for cookery purposes. Shrubs are mainly ornamental plants, with their leaves and flowers being used as culinary accompaniments, and also for medicinal purposes. Herbs can be shrubs. Shrubs can be herbs.
Woody stemmed bushes like rosemary, thyme, lavender, winter savory, and Sage come in the herbal category. The serious use of plants in medicine is in the province of homeopathic practitioners and natural herbalists who employ most species of herbs from mosses to trees in making their herbal remedies.
This book is going to give you an introduction to some of the herbs, which are easy to grow and you can obtain easily fresh or dried.

How did people get to know about herbs in ancient times? The awareness of the edible as well as the remedial qualities of herbs must have been gained by happy and sad experiences in prehistoric days. When food was scarce and often very nasty, pungent herbs made it more palatable. The larger succulent leaves, and plants provided salads and vegetables as an accompaniment to hunted mastodons and other prehistoric beasties.
Soon, man found out that some of these herbs could cure and heal wounds and ease suffering, as even the tastiest culinary herb has a real medicinal value and virtue. This is how prehistoric man found out that Moss – sphagnum – was an excellent healer of wounds. Just imagine he went hunting and got into an argument with a sabertooth. And there he was with wounds all over his body, lying nose down on the mossy ground.
So he found himself clutching a handful of moss, squeezing it, and trying to stop the blood flow from the wounds. Hey, the Moss was so absorbent, that it stopped the wound from bleeding any more. So back he came back to his tribal camp with Moss sticking all over his body. After a week or so, he noticed that his wounds were healing really well.
Now, most of this was just by trial and error, and luck. His genetic makeup was strong, and his diet conducive to good natural healing. But that meant that the next time he went on the warpath with other tribes in the vicinity, he made sure that the healer had packed lots of sphagnum, along with food in a pouch for every warrior.
Early civilizations inherited this knowledge and developed it even further, and both doctors and cooks used herbs appreciatively and with increasing beneficial effects.
Doctors experimented with every kind of plant and cooks with the more deliciously flavored types. Read more…

Introduction
The first time I saw a miniature garden growing in a bottle, my immediate response was “but how did the plants get into the bottle?” Naturally, this amused the gardener very much, and for those people who are not into the secret of how the plants got into the bottle, this feat can only be on par with how did a model ship get into the bottle!
A garden in a bottle has about the same sort of fascination and requires almost that same amount offered dexterity and ingenuity to construct as a ship in the bottle. It is also going to need a lot of patience, because after all, you are gardening in limited space. But once your water garden is established, it can be left for months without attention. In many cases, depending on your plans, it may also not need watering.
So for all those people who have been really fascinated with this conversation piece, when you see people surrounding a glass bottle with beautiful plants growing in it, here is the beginner’s guide to indoor gardening in a bottle.
More than 200 years ago, a London physician named that Nathaniel Ward discovered that mosses, as well as ferns, which never grew satisfactorily in a city full of industrial fumes flourished if they were grown in the protection of a glass sided case. Thanks to his experiments, bottle Gardens developed in Europe, and since then, they have been the rage all over the world for people who are strapped for place, are looking for a new hobby, and also want to achieve something wonderful.
You can use any large bottle. But the bottle has to be made of glass! Carboy glass bottles are normally made for brewing beer, so if you can get them cheap at a nursery nearby, please do so.
A 5 gallon carboy bottle is going for around USD 48 on eBay USA, but as my gardening books always suggest, follow and advocate minimum of expense and minimum of fuss, you may want to spend some time asking around in your circle of friends and neighbors for large glass bottles, which is they can spare you.
I have seen some of these bottles kept away in garages, because once upon a time, they were used and the owner does not have any use for them at the moment. He may not want them for another 20 years, either. Please do buy the bottles from your friends!
Otherwise, a long-lasting friendship can get into jeopardy, when carelessly spoken words of half jesting “Well, he borrowed that bottle from me and what a mess he has made in it.” could cause subconscious rancor and ill will. That is of course if he is not interested in gardening!
If he is a gardener, he is going to demand his bottle back – along with your bottle garden, – five years down the line!
You may want to tell him the purpose for this gardening experiment. It is possible he may also want to give you some suggestions about plants based on his experience. Read more..

Introduction
We are everlastingly grateful to that homemaker millenniums ago, who decided that she needed to preserve food, for the coming winter. That was a little step for her, but it was a giant step for mankind. Soon people began to preserve food in stoneware jars.
The principle of preserving these fruit/food items depended firstly upon the destruction by need of all the mold and bacteria in the air, fruit, or water. As technological development and experimental sciences began to develop in ancient civilizations, they discovered how to make glass containers and bottles more than 5000 years ago.

Naturally, at the same time, the cook in the kitchen was experimenting on food stuffs. It was only by trial and error that she learned that if she kept items of food in a moist atmosphere, it would soon grow moldy and perish real fast. Also, she learned that the exclusion of air during the sealing off the bottles prevented this mold from growing on the surface of the food.
Along with that, she found out that salt, vinegar, wine and oil were extremely useful mediums in which she could preserve food, and that is how the art of been a preserving food in the shape of jams, jellies, pickles and chutneys came into existence. So this art has come down to us through the ages, and that is why many families have closely guarded secret recipes for pickling or preserving food. And that is when our grannies told us in grave tones – “remember, children, the containers in which you put this jam should be totally sealed really properly. That is how you are going to keep it for a long time.”

Natural vinegar and natural oil was used as an important medium since ancient times to preserve fruit, pickles and other natural food items. Along with that, salt and sugar were used as preservatives. Read more…

Introduction:
First of all thank you for picking up this eBook, and I know that you are eager to learn how to draw a caricature, and you come in a right path for choosing this. Let me share to you how I begun drawing caricature, I was inspired one day when I was in the mall, I saw how the caricaturist finished a caricature of a couple and seeing them with a smile they are so glad of what the artist had done( and also the artist who just receive the “dough”), I also notice that the caricature drawn was very simple but catches the features that are good to exaggerate, on that moment on, I find ways to learn the art and practice this art and also to earn my living, and the result is this eBook that I’m sharing to all of you now.

As we know Caricature is unique compared to other forms of art, because like a portrait or any other pictures the focus are different as you’re seeing them funny or humorous as sometimes oppose to reality. A subject with extraordinary full eyes will be caricaturized with large bulging eyes as it’s received an exaggeration touch, another one, a kid with a buckteeth will be transformed with a larger set buckteeth twice its original size, lastly a man with a small sets of eyes when caricaturize will have a thin lines as his eyes is almost visible making the other features more dominant. See that’s how we exaggerate in caricature, the only thing you should avoid in caricature is making the small features look big, as it will make your subject hard to recognize, and you don’t want that to happen.

The eBook will guide you from start to finish, I divided the Lessons by sections for you to easily understand, and a real application of what you learn after you read all the sections here, you will be confident to draw and apply all that you learn from here, and I’m very sure you can do it. Cartoons reminds me of Saturday morning when I was little, I usually bring along paper and pencil in front of our television, when the cartoon program starts, I drew along the characters in the paper, If I remember it right the show was about a munching sphere head who likes to eat pellets, when he eats the big pellet, that’s the time he can eliminate his ghost enemies, I’m pretty sure you know that one, a popular video game anyway, after I drew it, when First day of School comes, I show it to my friends telling them how I spend my weekend, of course other than studying my lessons. Introduction
The smallest feline is a masterpiece.
Leonardo da Vinci

Have you ever thought of a cat as masterpiece in motion? There is no doubt cats are fascinating creatures, from the tip of their ears all the way to their furry little toes!

Cats have a rich history going back many years, long before you and I were even born. Many nations, but especially ancient Egypt, worshiped cats as gods and goddesses. Some Egyptians loved their cats like family, and gave them beautiful jewelry to wear around their necks. However, other nations feared this unique creature and tried to destroy them, only to realize much later how important cats truly are.

Thankfully, cats survived, and today are one of the most popular pets in the United States. But they are not only pets. Did you know some cats even ran for office?

In the small town of Talkeetna, Alaska a fun loving cat called Stubbs won the election! And it has been reported that he’s an excellent mayor. But that’s not all. He even has his own Facebook page affectionately called Mayor Stubbs.

Cats and dogs also have quite an interesting history, even though most people claim the animals hate each other on sight! While that may be true in some cases, in others it is quite the opposite. The Journal for Applied Animal Behavior Science published an article in 2008, which explained the problem between cats and dogs. It’s something that affects us as people too! Have you guessed yet? Well, it’s quite simple. It’s called…“lack of communication.”

Don’t be surprised at this fact. Just like us, if cats and dogs don’t “talk things out” they won’t get along. So the Journal noted the importance of introducing the feline and the canine (Cat and dog), early on in life. In other words, they should be introduced at less than 6 months old. If they are, then both cat and dog will understand each other and coexist together in peace!
Kitten & Puppy playing together

Perhaps this plan will not work for every single cat, but it’s worth a try. Of course cats have a very unique personality, and some may even be a bit moody. But on the whole, they are a beautiful expression of nature’s great diversity! Read more…
